Privacy Policy

Koda is a beta learning product for British Columbia students. We collect account details, learning activity, submitted answers, OCR-derived text, parent contact details, and security audit metadata only to operate the learning service, support students and parents, and protect the platform.

During beta testing, selected AI assistance may use DeepSeek. Direct identifiers such as name, email, school, and IP address are stripped before LLM gateway calls. Learning content such as formulas, solution steps, and mistake patterns may still be processed because it is needed to provide tutoring feedback.

Uploaded OCR images are used to extract math or written work. Local OCR files are securely erased after processing with a three-pass random overwrite where a local file copy exists.

Koda does not sell student personal information. Students and parents may request access, correction, export, deletion, or consent withdrawal after identity verification.
